Dave Cameron: Head On-Ice Instructor & Program Manager, Jets Hockey Development

As a Hockey Canada Skills Consultant, Dave brings over 20 years of experience in coaching where he has worked with all levels of players including Pro (NHL, AHL, ECHL), College, Junior, all the way to young players learning to play the game. Dave has experience coaching teams and working with coaches to implement skills into their practice plans.  Dave has helped players go on and achieve their goals including players getting selected in the WHL Bantam Draft, players making the jump to the NCAA, players getting selected in the NHL Entry Draft, all the way to players winning the Stanley Cup. Dave specializes in Individual Skill Development including, Power Skating, Shooting, Stick Handling, Passing, and Position-Specific skills. He believes that confidence is built from practice and players can continue to get better through detailed work in specific areas.

Dave played his minor hockey in the Winnipeg area before moving onto the WHL for five years where he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins (3rd round 80th overall 1998). Dave returned to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba where he obtained a degree in Kinesiology before starting his coaching career.

Dean Court: Business & Amateur Hockey Development & Manager Team Programs, Jets Hockey Development

Dean has worked with athletes from the grassroots level in minor hockey to the Junior, College and Professional level. Dean is a Hockey Canada High Performance Certified coach with over 25 years of hockey development experience. After a successful playing career in the MMJHL, CSHL, and OBERLIGA, Dean began his coaching career that included MMJHL, WHSHL, AAA, and WMHA. Dean works to guide, challenge and push elite athletes and beginners alike to discover their full potential while providing them with a positive experience and improve the player’s confidence.

Devin Himpe: On-Ice Instructor, Jets Hockey Development

Devin was a part-time coach with JHD for three years prior to joining JHD full time in the summer of 2019. He worked with Hockey Manitoba from 2015 to 2019 focusing his time on their grassroots development programs. Devin also serves as an assistant coach with the University of Manitoba Bisons Men’s Hockey Team and was a member of the Team Canada coaching staff at the 2019 Winter Universiade (FISU-International University Sports Federation Games) in Krasnoyrarsk, Russia.

Andy Kollar: Head Instructor, Goaltender Development, Ice Lab

Andy is a Winnipeg native who grew up playing junior hockey in the MJHL for the St. James Canadians and then progressed to playing four years of NCAA Division 1 hockey with the University of North Dakota and won a National Championship in 2000 and runner up in 2001. Andy went on to play three years of professional hockey in the UHL, ECHL, and WHA2. Andy has also helped train goalies throughout his playing career including at teaching camps with the University of North Dakota, Tretiak Goalie School, and in a Slovakian Goalie School in Livice among others.

Adam (AJ) Zeglen: Manager, High Performance Training, Focus Fitness

AJ has worked extensively with professional, collegiate, and amateur athletes from around the world. He is the manager and head strength coach at Focus Fitness where he brings over 10 years of experience and his unique brand of training techniques to professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts and community members alike. He comes from a diverse training background having competed in a multitude of different sports including basketball, rugby, playing football for the University of Manitoba Bisons, competing in natural bodybuilding at a national level, running the Manitoba Marathon, and holding a world record for the world’s longest car push in 24 hours. AJ has trained athletes in a variety of sports ranging from racquetball to football, he has worked with Hockey Canada, the Winnipeg Jets and many other hockey and football players from development ages through to professional in a number of leagues including the NHL, AHL, KHL, ECHL, and CFL. Helping people attain their goals and realize their dreams is what drives AJ. He enjoys helping people become the best versions of themselves and truly believes working out in the gym helps people find that.

Brett Wur: On-Ice Instructor, Jets Hockey Development

Hailing from Selkirk, Man., Brett played in several junior hockey leagues in Manitoba and Ontario before playing a year of DIII college hockey in the United States, four years with Trinity Western University in the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League, and one season of pro hockey in Germany, spending time at both forward and defence along the way. In the latter part of his playing career, Brett coached a variety of levels and ages, including as assistant Hockey Canada Skills Academy instructor and as assistant coach for the Trinity Western women’s team while in B.C. Since finishing his playing career, he joined the Stonewall Jets coaching staff for one season before taking the head coach position for the Lord Selkirk-Seven Oaks U18 AA team for the 2020-21 season.
